Tuesday, the 21st, was the first day of SPRING, about par for the course. A little cooler than some and a little warmer than others; such it is for 2023. That's the way it is in central Texas, but we did get a lovely shower of rain, with warmer weather forecast for the rest of the week.
There is a sign-up sheet in the narthex for those wishing to give Easter Lilies. The cost is $9 each.
The Bishop will be here Sunday. We will have 2 baptisms and 2 confirmations. A reception will follow the service in the library and hall of the administration building.
Sr. Warden news: "Cranz Nichols and Deana Geuther from the restoration committee met with a contractor representative on Monday. He took additional measurements and went up into the attic above the choir room. Damage from the lightning strike was noted in the wiring and one of the outlets used for the coffee pot in the choir room was impacted. Adjustments were made so that we'll now use the other outlet in the room. We anticipate receiving the final report from the company very soon. The report must first be sent to the insurance company. We are looking at a very large project! The company has also assessed flood damage to the Parish Hall and the water heater damage in the Youth Center. We are awaiting receipt of the last check from the insurance company for the Parish Hall roof project. We shall receive additional funding which will enable us to finally begin the re-roofing. Once funding is received, the contractor selected from the multiple bids will be contacted and the roof project will begin. We are most thankful for Linda Myers diligence and tenacity in obtaining the additional funds for the roof from the insurance company. The bell tower is to be shrouded and secured with more durable material. We are hopeful that this will take place before the Bishop's visit on Sunday. We appreciate your patience as our problems are numerous and the process is incredibly complicated and slow. Our facility will look amazing when all work is completed.
The church directory has been revised and updated. Copies will be available on Palm Sunday, April 2nd. On this date, copies will be found on the table in the back of the church in the vestibule and also copies will be available in Janet's office. Upon request, Janet can send a copy of the directory directly to you via email. Deana" (I received word Tuesday that the bell tower has been properly shrouded and secured).
